Message	Rod Bearing Clearances: Tight or Loose? I do not build engines, or claim to, but common sense tells you that building the engine tighter will increase oil pressure (Mike K. even commented on this with SCC Project Z), BUT a few days ago when Mike H. discovered his bearing damage, a few people agrred that big HP cars need looser tolerances. I am assuming they meant looser bearing tolerances, since Mike's bearing were the topic. Feel free to discuss.
